Just throwing this out there for you bored folks. Started with a 96 2.2 crapmatic with a blown engine, like a hole in the block, and ended with a 4.3 stick shift. Bought it in the end of april after it sat over 2 years. It's my daily so I could park the beretta again. I just sold my old daily in feb/march.
Just starting out. You can see the 2.2 if you look close enough
The engine/trans is out but thats about it
Swapping the dash harness out
Swapping the engine harness out
Heres my custom electric fan mount. I used my leftover beretta fan from when I swapped the slim mount 96 fan in.
My dads arms and the 5-speed and related parts fresh from the junkyard! Glad I had him there to help! lol
The 4.3L is in
Pulling a uhaul a week after it's first start up
I started right up on the first turn of the key. I also bent new brakelines for the fronthalf, new brakes hoses/pad/rotors etc.New battery and alternator. Tons of new gaskets and seals. New fuel lines the whole way. blah blah blah it was done right with the intention of serving me for many years reliably. Took me about 3 months start to finish. (Its not my garage and I work 50+ hrs a week easy, and the only help was my dad "hey can you hold this or pull this" type stuff). It was fun, maybe next time it'll be the mighty V8.
