livin round philly (Im at temple campus) people tend to get killed 2 or 3 blocks from us all the time, and the person doing the killing almost always knows the person they are killing (unless its a stray bullet)

Well, I found out that this guy that got stabbed was aquainted with this girl. According to his brother, who's plants he was supposed to water. A few days (week) before, they met this girl at a gas station or something. She told them that she was 20 and they exchanged numbers. So, my guess is, that this guy wanted a booty call so he invited her to his brothers to help him water the plants (or whatever). But for whatever reason she stabbed him, but so far self defense has not been mentioned. So, WTF? Crazy bitches!!

Isn't that the sort of shit that they tell women. "Don't go alone with an older man you don't know." Sounds like something my mom would preach to my sisters. Man, did this poor mother fucker get burned. Meets this 15 year old girl, she says shes 20 she gets on his good side, then BAM!!! she knifes the poor fucker. Sucks to be him.

do you have a bell to ring people in or any kind of security in your building?
how long have you lived there?

I'm not from canada so i don't know how the system is up there, but here apatments form association. They vote as a group to force the building owners to make things better. Here in the burbs we have neiborhood watch programs. i live in a fairly crimefree area,but we still had the vadals, loud partys, and ocationale theft. You know typical neiborhood about to go down the tubes things. We started it about a year ago. We just when aroud knocking on peoples doors asking if they would be interested and went from there. We don't drive around all night with bonoculars are anything, but if we see something thats out of plase we just take note of it and if something comes up missing or broken we give the info to the police. We haven't had anything happen cence we started the watch.

Well your neighborhood must suck then! J/K, lol. Anymore it is too easy to get a gun here in the states, that is part of the problem here. Then the justice system here is just a big money making scheme more then a judicial system.

Yeah man, I think I posted this shit above. But anyway, the security is as follows. All building entrances including the parkade have "uncopyable" Abloy keys. The main entrance has a voice call-up system with call number different than the suite number. The entrances all have digital video servailance as well as all main areas including parkade. The video to the main entrance is set to the buildings cable system, so you can watch the front entrance on your TV. The only problem is letting people in with out seeing a key. Fuck, most of the time they get the door held for them.

As far as the association goes, our building has one. The guys who are on it a bastards but, whatever.
