Ok well you will still end up spending alot of money on doing a 3.8L swap because you need a ton of fabrication done. If you are going to be changing to a 4.3L (why you would do that and not a V8 swap, because it is the EXACT same process, I do not know.) then you are just throwing money away on a 3.8L because you will need to redo a bunch of fabrication for the different 4.3L.

I suggest you find a buyer for the 3.8L. Maybe sell it save some dough and do a V8 swap. OR if you can sell it and get a 3.4L because NO fabrication is required and you can reuse all your old parts.

Did the 3.8 come from a Gbody by chance? If so you can get the frame pads and motor mounts and use them. Its just a matter of lining up the frame pads to get the correct motor placement. I done one of these swaps for a 1989 S10 Blazer about 10 years ago. The swap worked great. Now the key to the tranny is if its a 4x4 you need a 700R4 tranny sfrom an S10 with 4wheel drive. If its a 2wd S10 then it is a matter if swapping everything out. Also once you do the swap dont forget to measure the driveshaft for correct length. Also don't forget the engine harness and computer if you'll be using that equipment. Also lets not forget that the radiator may be differnt also. When we done the 3.8 swap its was straight out of an 87 GN so the intercooler and everything had been swapped in. The raditor are similar in dimensional size but the S10 rad has an additional water port for the heater core and water pump by pass. That should be it.

          Happy Motoring!
