Ok, time for an update...

The company I was going to go with can't do transparent backgrounds, and I kinda learned this the hard way...



Its hard to tell from the pic, but I think since I had the transparent background, it screwed up the coloring of the logo. Its almost black instead of the blue it should be.

Anyway, I've been working with another semi-local company to just do straight vinyl, die-cut decals. The pricing is alittle higher for the product itself, but I think we can keep the pricing the same for you guys and still be ok. I'm planning on just doing white, blue and red for these... mainly white though, since that seems to be the most popular.

As far as the pictured decal goes, I have 30 of them ready. If anyone wants one, I'll let them go pretty cheap ($2?). Probably not something you'd stick on your car, but I think it would probably look good on a toolbox, somewhere in the engine bay (ok, kinda weird, but you never know) or even on a computer or something. If you are interested, email me or PM me and I'll get them out to you.

As soon as I get some feedback on the other ones, I'll get them made up and then post it online. I was planning on ordering 100, I just don't know if I can unload that many. I don't mind fronting the money initially to get it done, I just don't want to be out that much money for a long period of time...

I'll unload a couple of the first ones (the ones you have 30 of) at the meet. So is the white the background, or the paper backing? As for the die-cut ones, I wouldn't mind 4 (two for each car).

To answer your question Jon, the white is the background.

And now the newest update. Yeah, I know, this keeps getting old. But this is what happens when we try to do something. And now I think back to why I never did this before...

Anyway, went and talked to the shop doing the new decals. Because of the small size and the thin lines of the logo, it can't be die-cut. The vinyl cutter just can't cut small and accurate enough to make it look good. And as Ben and I were discussing earlier... with little pieces that small, there would be a really good chance that the pieces would easily come off (during washing, possibly a hard rain, etc). BUT, the new company CAN do the transparent background.

With that said, the final design (I HOPE!!) will be a 3"x5" transparent decal with a white logo and lettering. I should have one by Monday or Tuesday (depends on when I get a chance to drive an hour there and an hour back). I'll go ahead and put it on my car and take pictures of wht it looks like. For those coming to the meet, I'll bring all of what I have and sell them there. To others, let me know and I'll see what I can do about mailing them out. I'm not gonna guarantee they'll be mailed before the meet, but I'll see what I can do.

Sounds good. I'd rather have transparent backround-but if white on black turns out better or whatever, then that will work.

Use your best judgment, it isn't that big of a deal to me.
