  • when it rains it pours

so i knew my starter was slowly going out id go outside to start the car and hear a whizzing noise when i turned the key and graduly it got to the point where i could only turn the key a little bit to get it to start.....well one day i was comming off the freeway and felt a hesitation in my acceleration and my flowmasters had a flat sound to them when i got out the car and looked under it the whole pipe was shaking, this includes cat converter so i shut the car off....and now my starter has went completely out so now i cant even start the car to diagnose it....

When the starter in the 91 got where it wouldn't kick the drive gear out, I would get out and crawl part way under the front end and commence beating the living tar out of it with my tire iron to get it to work. This only worked for a while since it was a temporary solution, but it got me by as long as I needed it for a few weeks until I got a new starter. Hopefully it will work for yours as well.
