  • Suicide Door Hinges...I need help

I realllllyyyy want to do Suicide doors on my S10. But I have no clue how to do it or what to look for.

So what I would like to know,

What kind of hinges can or should I use?
What do I do with the latches? Can I still shave the handles and do poppers for it?

Also, to make it harder. I am working on a budget. College kid budget.
    So the cheeper the better.

I do not mind doing some fabrications if it saves money.

    Thanks for any help.

Those prices are not too bad but it does not help any with knowing which kind or type I may need.
They only had one choose for each type.

Email them and ask. You get a better response from a company that provides the parts than from a bunch of guys who are on a forum about engines.

I could be wrong but I bet, with a little ingenuity, you could reuse the stock hinges, latches and striker plates.

That's what I was thinking, as long as he is not afraid of a little fabrication work. Although I've never done suicide doors, so I've no idea. I bet one start would be to flip flop hardware for each side (use passenger on drivers side and drivers on the passenger side).

I would do that but mine are bent as shit. I have had to jack the doors back up more then once. I do not want any problems down the road.

On a side note, I love that Z34. I wish mine would have been 5 speed. Would still be here.

Well that certainly sucks. And that old of a truck in a junkyard would probably have the same problems.

On the side note, thanks! I love my car, but that pic was when it was in it's hay day. The paint on top is pretty faded and rough because the car came from Texas and the sun down there killed it. Also, our areas AWESOME roads fixed the once nice round rims. I need to buy a new set so I have 4 matching rims on it, and I can't get just any rims. Stock won't fit over the front because it's been upgraded with '91 Corvette ZR1 brakes all around and has cryo treated 13" front rotors and 12"with Baer PBR calipers so 16" rims will not fit. I've been pricing the same brand of rims (TSW) and they are not cheap. The ones I want are found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Gu...Q5fAccessories Down size is I need to change my lug pattern from 5x115 to 5x120, which is the same as a lot of BMW's, but it's a small sacrifice .

Yeah, that is a problem I have seen. when i first got the truck I just wanted to fix the stock ones but noone has a good set.

Small price to pay for the look it gives it. I had a clean set of 18s on mine but it made it sit a little higher then I wanted and I found a set of springs to lower it a little but then they rubbed. But it was alright, ended up getting rid of the car. I need a five speed. lol.
I would change the pattern over to a 5x4.5(120.7). That is the one larger GM pattern above that. There are plenty of sets for those. I have three different for my S10, lol.

I have a friend at a rim shop so I get deals on my rims.
Truckin mag does not deal with the older body style. They only do 1994 and up.
