Here is the problem..Stay with me.

I have in my possesion a 52" Sylvania HD TV, that was declared "Brain Dead". Yeah, give me another challenge. It's 3 years old, but it went through a fire. Servicemaster said it was toast. Guess what...yes, I'm watching it now.

Problem: I replaced the USB board that also includes the processor. (that was the problem) Now the remote does not recognize the TV. All works well with the side controls, but that is a PITA. Can I reprogram the remote? Can I use a universal? I'm at a loss here. Either way, it was free. And I like free. Hell, I use MagicJack. Cheapskate.

I would go to Walmart for a universal. Walmart for 2 reasons. 1) Cheap 2) Their no hassle return policy in case it doesn't work. Have you switched batteries in the remote? I doubt remotes work on RF, so I can't see why switching that board would have killed the remote function. Also, if I were you, I would do a search on google for the service manual for that TV and see if you can't find it on the net somewhere for free. Try popular torrent sites too (TPB, ect.)

Now I gotta go to a pull and pay. Cavalier drivers side door took a major crap on me. (don't ask) Sunday does not get any better. It's a good thing I like working on cars....

Seat belt retract was screwed up anyway, might as well replace it all. I hope they have one in Red. Yes, glass shattered. 64 bux if I pull and pay. Good price. Complete door. PITA to remove and replace. Oh well, such is life....

Anyone need an identity? I bitch, but life is good. I'm still working. Now to finish the drunk, wake up, and load tools. I'm thinking ..no, that's not a good thing, just do it.
