So my neighbors were having a party tonight.

I joined in.

Later, I returned to my apartment to find my new air conditioner pushed aside. I had just gotten it the previous night, and hadn't yet really secured it in place, it was just setting in the window.

I rushed inside my apartment, only to find my wallet missing from the top of the trunk under the window.

So I called 911, reported it and then called my bank and stopped the cards that were in it.

So now we come to my thoughts of what oughta be done.
The bastard oughta be strung up by his dick and hung in the desert with nothing but a kerosene heater to keep him company. He oughta be broken on the rack, then while still able to feel pain, beaten into oblivion by myself with a dull sword. Then I'd hold a blowtorch to his genitals so he'd never be able to spread his fouled seed to the rest of the population.

But that's just how I feel right now.

The sherriff's department just called back and took the report over the phone.

Now I need to figure out how in the hell to better secure my window that has the A/C unit in it. Granted, I had it kinda temporarily stuck in there, but still... it oughta be tough enough that it'd make at least a good racket if someone did try to come in through there again. Maybe an alarm system.

Rig up a shotgun on it so if it gets pushed aside they will get blasted. I know you have a shotgun I hate thieves as well, almost worse than murderers. Some people need to be killed, but no one needs their shit stolen (unless they are a thief).

I had the window fastened shut, but I hadn't yet fastened the unit to the window frame.

I think what I'm gonna do is build a big "insert" that would make it far easier to come in through a regular door or window than to remove the A/C. Then it's at least as secure as it is without the A/C unit in place. I'm going to take measurements, then next weekend when I go home I'll see about building it since I'll have access to things like a welder, table saw, air tools, etc.

I'm also giving consideration to putting in some sort of alarm system.

Sorry, no critters allowed here. Instead, I'm thinking I'll rig up about a 130db siren to motion and window/door sensors. Maybe a dialer too, if I can find one cheap nuff.

hmmm....... i was thinking something like what gpxss said. remove the metal outer casing, properly insulate it, use plastic screws to put it back on, simply hook up an electric fence unit to it. if he touches it zap or maybe u could further hook the fence unit to a solenoid that when the 12vdc drops to 0 the solenoid activates a switch to put wall outlet voltage to him. that will make him think twice. if he can let go.

or what u can do is take the glass out of the window and put a guillotene(not sure on spelling) blade in so when he moves the a/c unit out of the way it will chop off at least one hand/arm.

I like the shotgun idea. That could be like your siren. Then if you aren't home and the shotgun goes off, someone in your area is bound to call the cops. Then again, you are in the south, and that kinda thing is common, so maybe they won't call the cops :P That does suck though. Theives are peices of shit. More so then deadbeat dads and that kind of thing.

Let's see..You obviously have a computer, if you have a webcam, you have an instant security system. I can set mine for motion detection. PC stays on standby until it detects movement. Hope you don't have a cat.
