I may try to swing by when I'm down there for spring break with the family......I'll be staying on the west coast though (Marco Island).

The entire coastal communities live and die by tourism... unfortunately, if your goal is to sunbathe and swim in the Gulf of Mexico... keep a sharp eye on this issue before you commit to the trip... assuming of course that the family members you mentioned are not the ones you will be visiting here with rather than the ones who will come along with you on Spring Break. I am by no means a "Party-Pooper" by any stretch of the imagination and I would not like to discourage any visits to our fine state (there are many other cool venues to see down here as well). At the height of the BP Oil Spill Crisis, some of our local scientists from the University of South Florida (Marine Biology Center in St. Petersburg, Florida) apparently discovered a swath of hidden oil some 600' wide and several miles long...submerged...and subject to some odd tidal movements that may in future bring some more disgusting, toxic mess to our shores. Nothing is harder to get off your Grandmother's feet... than black tar balls!

I saw pictures and videos of people trying to clean that mess up... Those things looked disgusting, and I don't mind reaching in a drain pan of oil to retrieve a drain plug I dropped in there, lol.
