Got Pulled over again... Modified exhaust.

I got rolled on my way home from walmart for altered exhaust... Local cops in my town are so lame. Clamed he smelled weed in the car, got patted down and asked if i had anything in the car... Felt like telling him if he smells weed he better check his own pockets! laughed and told him to have fun, search the car cause i have nothing to hide.. (i dont smoke or drink). And of course he didnt search the car, didnt give me a ticket just wasted my time 3 blocks from my house.. Im glad i didnt get a modified exhaust ticket but at the same time, Get a life go look find drug dealers and thieves quit herassing me. I wish they would start pulling over Lifted Trucks (every 3rd truck has exhaust around here) and Motorcycle A-holes with stright pipes (drive by my house at 2am leaving the bars at WOT)

PS. if your ever in or near loveland CO they are terrible and will do anything they can to Herass you.

Well Got it taken care of.. If the current setup doesnt quiet it down to keep the Police off my ass nothing will lol. The DOHC is a loud motor

so between the turbo and 4 mufflers in the system it should keep me out of trouble. Might i add still throaty at low rpms (much quieter and cleaner sound) and SOOO Quiet on the highway, it is a huge difference crusing to work lol kind of a nice change

i got one of these also 14" long 4" round magnaflow. just gotta pick some flanges up and it's going on the car.

even with an OEM style camaro muffler my car was still loud. that's cool that it still sounds good with all those mufflers.

oh, and almost every time i've been stopped, i get the whole "i smell alcohol" thing, regardless of location or time of day... why can't anyone understand my speech is kinda messed up due to a stroke, not alcohol....

not entirely sure if i had the bigger downpipe on at this moment but it was an SLP catback with a flowmaster 80.


around me it was mostly the smaller towns and the state police i had problems with. i had one state trooper tell me he could hear my car a 1/2 mile away and then he nitpicked about everything on my car when he had me pulled over. got that one thrown out because it was BS and i took the headlight covers off and removed my slightly tinted tails.

Even the cops around me would hassel me when I drove my car for it being too loud. I ended up putting 2 resonators, one being an ultra-quiet resonator by vibrant, and two mufflers and still a little loud yet.

I've never been bothered by the Suffolk cops, but I've been pulled over by the cops more out east on Long Island (Southhold PD, they SUCK) they'll nit pick at my lack of a front plate, window tint maybe, but never my exhaust. My car certainly isn't by any means obnoxiously loud, but you sure as hell hear me rumbling down the block. lol

Actually, I've been pulled over out west, by a Nassau cop for my exhaust. I lol'd because of how he asked me about it, "What's with the exhaust, huh? Why you have an exhaust on the car?"

Oh the lulz. Luckily, he just gave me a warning. I don't cruise around Nassau much anymore, so I don't care.

Never been nabbed for my exhaust in my state, but they did pull me over for no front plate and dark tint... He just told me I know whats illegal and to get it fixed... Might be the fact that he was a cop in hartford and realized I live on the eastern side of the state so he wouldn't have to deal/see me again.

I have had Illegal tint, loud exhaust and no front plate for like 7years.... living in the same town... All of a sudden about a year and a half ago they just started cracking down... They use any excuse in loveland to herrass you. Fort collins, denver everywhere else not a big deal... YET i don't see loveland cops pulling over the desiel fags and the harley fags for being 2x louder and PUKING black smoke (TONS and TONS of it, Obstructing your view completely). and YET my other car (L67 Lumina) for a while had 3" dp, 3" mandrel Straight pipe/Side pipe.... SOOOOOO LOUD! and not a single peep from the cops.... Maybe im just in the Not quiet enough and Not Loud enough range... ? And sence colorado became a "LEGAL" medicinal marajana state that is the new Bull Shit they try pulling on you.

All within the last 1.5 years... Not a single problem before that.
Illigal tint ticket -$50 and stripped front windows clear
No front plate & Illegal exhaust -Warning
No front plate & Illegal exhaust -Warning 2 weeks later
No front plate -Warning and bought a bracket $15.... Done with that hassle
Modified exhaust Ticket -$50
Modified exhaust -Warning and added BIG ass resonator $200 (had to tweek piping and add WB02 back in)

On a semi-related note... My co-worker got a ticket the other day for talking on a cellphone while driving in a school zone. Yet, per the ordinance, bus drivers are exempt from this law.

The RCMP in my area are pretty relaxed in regards to modified cars. Tint is the only thing they give tickets for. In nearby winnipeg though, the mayor has been waging war on cruise night the past few years. This year's annoyance is mobile inspection units that are only deployed on sunday nights with "random" inspections.

It fine where I live. There are millions of tools with F350's lifted 12" with 37" tires on chrome rims that have never been on a gravel road and they don't get bothered.

What they are cracking down on is impaired and reckless driving

From 0.05 to 0.079 BAL they can take your license for 3 days and impound your car and a $200 fine on the first offense
For .08 you will loose your license for 6 months and get your car impounded for 1 month plus a fine.

For speeding 20Kph over you can get excessive speeding which is about $260 on the spot and 6 points on your license. Points are $75 each to pay off when you renew your insurance. If you get caught twice you will loose your car to impound and license for is gone for 3 months.

But I have herd its worse in other countries where they will take your license make you go to driving school and re test for your license and thats on your own dime and can cost as much as $2500

Ive had the same car in CO for 13 years (my 1997 GTP) - with the same license plate!! I got pulled over dropping my daughter off at school (im in uniform) for "concealing my front license plate", mind you I have had the same smoked cover on the car for 12 of the 13 years. CO cops are retards!
