  • Any Rush fans out there?

I've talked to tons of people, and most people either love or hate Rush. And what is the main reason? The voice of Getty Lee. Yeah, it's something you either get used to or loathe. Anyway... Just wondering because in about 10 hours, I will be sitting anxiously waiting for the start of Rush's 30th Anniversary Tour. This will be my third time seeing them live and I think it will probably be one of the best times as well.

I've been a fan since I was 16 (so... 13 years now?) and own every album that has been released in the US with the exception of the Signals 'Master's Disc'.. the special, digitially remastered albums put on the gold CDs. I have the other 2 though... Also have the Live in Rio DVD as well as the Show of Hands VHS. And now I am looking forward to the new album, coming out on June 29th.

I'll let everyone know how awesome the show was when I get home....

Rush is sweet. No one can top Neil Pert on the drums.

I just saw Rush the other week, they played a 3 hour long show, it was pretty sweet, it started to rain, that kind of sucked, but it was still pretty fun.

That was an AWESOME show. It was the 3rd time I've seen them and by far the best. It just amazes me that 50-somethings can jam out for so long. One great thing was they hardly ever talked, just went from song to song. It was just awesome. Here is a quick breakdown:

                    Show started at 8:05
Played until 9:20, then took a 20 min intermission
                    Started playing again at 9:40
                    Played until 11:10
Came back out after 5 minutes and played until 11:30

It was just amazing. I had great seats (about 100 feet back from the right hand side of the stage). It was an outside venue and it just sounded awesome. Luckily for us, it didn't rain at all. Strong thunderstorms had been in the forecast for the entire day, and we had been pounded the night before. But it stayed clear throughout the entire concert.

All I have to say is, if you like them, and they are coming to an area near you, I would try to go. I've been to many concerts in my life, and this was probably the best one I have ever seen.

I love Rush. Getty Lee preformed with Bob and Doug Mackenzie in their "Great White North" album. (fuckin' hilarious) You guys should download it, it's called Take Off.
