We put a 2.5l DOHC 5 series motor in an e30, boy it's a hoot to drive! I think it needs steeper gears, it has a 2.93 and hits 60mph at the top of 2nd (laying rubber into 3rd), can't imagine it's top speed. The car weighs about 2700lbs and the motor is 192hp@5900rpm and 184ft/lb@4500.
