  • 2 wires on a carb gasket

I was working on a 1984 buick regal with the 3.8l v6 and I was working on the carb and the gasket under the carb has 2 wires running to it and one of them is broke off, anybody know what this is and where do I get one. Its a rochester carb and the part says sylvania on the side with a number 15853.

Exactamundo. It is part of the EFE or Early Fuel Evaporation system. Unless you live north of humanity it really isn't necessary to performance. Such devices were answers to improving warmup emissions in the early days of the war on spotted owls.
