  • Ben is on fire!

Quite literally.... I got a message early this morning from Ben. Appears he had a garage fire last night that pretty much totaled his garage. Luckily, it was contained to only the garage, and luckily, no one was severely hurt. Still had a lot of damage. I just found an article about it as well - http://inlocalnews.info/articles/20100401-107.html .

As I said, other than some minor burns, and being pretty shaken up, he is ok. Its still a pretty big loss though. Please send him your wishes, as I hope he will be back on later in the day.

Sorry to hear that. I just joined up and was starting to learn about everyone following old threads. Just finished reading about the 2009 get-together yesterday. Hope the hassle is minimal, insurance isn't going to be speedy.

Jesus Wept... What a fucking mess...

Brad... Let us all know if you are setting up a PayPal Fund in his name...if his insurance does not cover the damages ... There are literally thousands of us who come here and benefit from his free advice who would willingly part with some money to help the man get back on his feet. All of us know that if there is a bright spot in the center of our Universe... Ben's contributions to this place are part of what keeps it going...

I knew better by the garage shot, but wasn't going to say anything, lol. Although... last time Josh and I were there Ben did catch a cardboard box on fire baking a manifold, and he did say he normally bakes his manifolds on top of his parts washer that happens to be full of cleaning solvent...

                      Edit: lol, go to:

I picked it up this AM and send a msg direct to brad... I noticed the Address first... IIRC Ben is on Marion Ave. Also I knew last year they had a good fools joke, so I figured this year it had to be a good one to get everyone.

Just like Google's name change... lol
