96 4 cyl into 99

Hi guys,

Just got home and when i pulled onto my street the engine started knocking...it is an RPM knock, so the "what could it be's" are limited and none of the options are good.

Judt online and found a 96 very cheap and was wondering if I could just swap the motors out? I know you guys are the ones to ask! I race stock cars, so doing the work is no issue, just want to know if it is doable?

I have a 2.4 L now and i believe the 96 is too...

This is a V6 board, so you won't get any help on 4-cylinders...
