    Turn on CNN

I hope none of you live in Hawaii, or at least get to high ground. Wave expected about 4pm EST.

Saw the news, there is a Tsunami Warning. Not a watch, a warning for Hawaiian Islands and I believe the West Coast as well.

Expected to be about 8 feet high. That is a big tsunami. Doesn't seems so but 8 feet can be absolutely catastrophic as the wave rises heading into shore. CNN says 1-7' tsunami expected

I hope everyone will be alright. Kind of puts a pause on my project. I'm watching the news now, I have a sister in LA. She is going to spend a day in the mountains, by the Hollywood sign. What a spot to view a tsunami, if they get one.

update: US Warships evacuating port and heading to sea to avoid the wave. Considering the same action on west coast sea ports. Must be something for the military to act.

update II Bouy outside Hawaii just registered 27 foot change in ocean height. Dear God!!!

The bouy was further out into sea then I was aware of but I read 22 meters. CNN a while ago recognized a 20-24 foot drop which means there is a 20-24 foot rise as well just behind it.

Honestly, I hope I am wrong.

So far, the highest surge was 3-4 feet, as far as I know.

These things are actually really hard to predict/understand. History has shown the biggest surge can come up to 6-9 hours after the first wave. Though the most often large surge is the 3rd wave. But they are still under a warning.

It has seemed to fall under the media radar atm.

If nothing happens by 8 am EST tomorrow, i would say its all clear. But that is just a wide estimate.

I haven't seen anything new for the last hour. Was moving all my car parts and tools into my new garage.

I drove my turbo build to my new garage as well. But very slow and steady. I wanted to punch it but I didn't. Needs tuned first. I was going to data log the trip but I forgot. Though, I could hear the turbo spinning as I drove, even with a soft foot. But nothing like boost levels, I kept an eye on all my gauges.

You got that right. I think the media was hyping this all up for ratings.

Seems moral obligation to the truth has flown out the window. And when the REAL tsunami comes along, many people will ignore the warnings as another false alarm, then die. The blood will be on there hands.

Oh well, that's why I live on a mountain. Building my life and home on a rock not sand.

Back to work on the car.

Yeah that sucked. My wife's cousin is station there in the USCG, and have some Chilean friends, but all their family is OK.

My friend in Orlando said they did that about the whole thing in Sea World where that trainer got killed by that killer whale. He said Jack Hanna even said the national media should be ashamed of themselves because they made it sound like it was in front of a whole audience and tons of people saw it when in reality, only a couple trainers saw it- that was it. He had praised the local media over the phone while in between national news interviews because the local news was the only one to report it correctly.
