    16196387:
    1994-95 Buick Century and Olds Cutlass Ciera 3100 V6 SFI MAF 4T60-E ($1FA code mask; 32kb). Inside mount only - 7730 look-alike box.

    16196401:
    1994-95 W-body LQ1 3.4 DOHC SFI MAF 4T60-E (early uses $1FA, others use $2E code mask; 32kb). Underhood mount - 16149396 look-alike box

    i have never heard of any 94-95 LQ1s running 1FA, but i guess it's possible...
    1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

    totally unrelated to previous post, but the 3900 VI operation seems odd to me...

    this is supposedly how the 07 G6 3900 operates:

    valve open(short runner):

    engine not running
    idling/driving with low throttle and less than 2500RPM
    throttle between 45-65% RPMs under 3500
    throttle above 65% and RPMs above 3500
    WOT
    decelerating with no throttle

    valve closed(long runner):

    throttle above 45% and RPM above 1000

    some of it seems ass-backwards to me.... like why is the short runner being used for decel, idle and low throttle...

    and valve feedback? is that suggesting it's PWM?

      Wouldn't the short runners give better tip-in throttle response and then shift to long runner for maximum mid-range torque?

      If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda

        the shorter runners are better for high-RPM HP, and the long runners are better for low-RPM torque...

          That is true generally, but I bet they found that shorting the runners below a certain throttle angle initiated air movement sooner, thereby boosting the long runner effect during tip-in.

            i guess it's possible... especially since during cranking it supposedly opens the valve by 10%. same kind of situation: going from a steady airflow(0 while not running), to a rather large increase instantly(30-40 grams/sec(est.) right after firing), just like snapping open the throttle...

                        now the sinister stuff makes sense...

                        and since this thread is full of randomness already:

                        i have 1500MB to use up and haven't even gotten to 10MB yet...

                              thought you might like that...

                              honestly, that thing was horrible... and i can only imagine how many junked engines can be attributed to that crap. i've got a TG3980 on the GP now... it costs liek 3X as much, but i have a feeling it won't be worth it once i tear it apart....
