  • Since we don't have an Exhaust area...

Where does everyone that fabs their exhaust up buy their O2 bungs from? I'm in need for one for a box truck since the cobbled together exhaust had one too close to a crossover and it got broken off. Luckily this is after the cat, so it doesn't have an effect on the way the engine runs too bad.

I just got off the phone with the guy that pwns the box truck and he suggested an exhaust shop. How I didn't even think of it is beyond me, lol. I also saw them at Jegs and Amazon. Amazon even had a 45* one, which I thought was pretty cool and would rock in tight spaces. The regular ones seemed to sit around $5-6, and the 45* jobbie was around $12. I just now found this place called Mandrel Bending Solutions (click this link, it's to their bung section) and their prices beat the tar out of other places (I wonder about shipping).

      O2 SENSOR BUNG (normal)
      Price: $3.95

      O2 SENSOR BUNG 6345 (45*)
      Price: $3.95

Oxygen Sensor Bung (Recessed aka flush mount)
      Price: $3.95

      STAINLESS STEEL OXYGEN SENSOR BUNG
      Price: $4.95

We normally sell them for $5.25 with free shipping for orders over $25 but will waive the minimum order for 60V6 forum members.

i buy spark plug anti-fowlers from autozone and cut one end off, drill a hole with a stepper bit and then weld in the bung with an old o2 and lots of grease on the threads.

Correct, I use an 18mmx1.5 nut and cut it long ways - get 2 bungs. That's really for the DIY'er though as they don't look as nice. For jobbers I generally pay $5 plus shipping (try to get them added to mandrel bend orders )

Awesome ideas all around. Thanks for the heads up, Marc. I might take you up on that some time soon (hopefully). The guy knew of a place to get one though, so he is bringing it with him on Saturday when he stops by with money for the P/S pump this hog needs, and also for a new O2 sensor since the new one that got put in got busted off because of that cross member I was talking about in my first post. Much appreciated info from everyone

I've done the same. Also, if you shroud a downstream o2 sensor with a few of these stacked, you can run catless without pissing an OBDII computer off. Sometimes you have to play with it to get the right combo, but it works.

The guy that owns the box truck just dropped a bung off tonight. He got it at a Car Quest store half an hour away from me for $3.50, and it turns out it is the flush type.

Running an exhaust hose into the cab to off his partner...

Just kidding, lol. The place that put the exhaust on the truck before he bought it had put a post cat O2 sensor right against a cross member which ended up snapping a brand new O2 sensor in half at the base. I'm installing a new bung about 3 inches down and on the other side of the pipe where nothing will interfere with the sensor.
