I haven't followed car audio for years. The JVC 22w MP3 and Sony 6x9's in
my truck pounded. The same deck in the Alero on the other hand sounds like crap. I figured the stock speakers were crappy so I bought some new
speakers. They sound worse than the stock speakers... Also the 6-1/2" don't
fit in the door. Infinity makes a decent set of 4x6 I might buy. Not sure yet.
Then I figured it might be the wiring. I spent several hours yesterday running new wires. Still sounds like crap. I figure it has to be the deck just isn't powerful enough. I'm looking for suggestions on AMP's.
The speakers I bought are below. I ended up using the 6-1/2" on my home
speakers since they didn't fit in the door. I had a pair of 4-1/2" Sony's I put
in for the time being.

I've always liked MTX, so I checked out their line and liked the MTX TE604.
More than enough power to push all four speakers. Are MTX's amps still
decent or have them went to hell. I haven't bought anything from them
since 2003-04.
