  • Looking for a honda website

BUT: i swear, it's not for me my car is fast enough, i don't need a honda to make me feel sweet lol

it's a parts place, dedicated to JUST honda parts, and it seemed really nice a well setup. i believe the site had a tan colored backgorund, and i think it had either "engineering" or "dynamics" in the name. The name didn't point out the fact that it was a honda place.

I have a friend who's into hondas somewhat, he's buying a cage for his 91 CRX today, he's going big with it, and wanted to point him towards some nice sites.

somebody posted links to this site i speak of, to some theory articles they had, i just can't remember where on here i saw it there's just so many threads to sift through.

And making like 450 hp to the wheels while getting well over thirty miles per gallon on top of it?

Okay, that's not quite 450 hp, but good lord, 272 hp and 186 ft-lbs at the wheels in an '89 Civic? It gets high twenties fuel economy and passes emissions like a brand new car? Buddha on a bicycle.

It has gone through some changes. Here is an older article from Hot Rod where the engine had 480hp+...

487 hp boosted is damned impressive too. But that 272 hp while naturally aspirated gets me. Our community's best NA engine is right around that with two more cylinders and a hell of a lot more displacement. Blows my mind.

It's all about the flow. You can add all the fuel you want all day, but if you can't get the air in and get the exhaust out, you aren't going to make power. This is why I like my LQ1, it just sucks I have to go custom on my goodies.

i hate to sound like one of those domestic guys who hate anything JDM but, for starters those are actually poor numbers for a built n/a honda and boosted considering its@27psi. not to mention that tranny wont last long regardless of the build...thats why the honda guys running high hp go powerglide.
secondly there's near ZERO r&d on 60* engines. pretty hard for us to come up with numbers when we cant even go online and buy a CAI, headers or..well anything really with 30 different well known manufacturers to choose from like the rest of the free world.
3rd...a D16? no thanks. what import guys consider reliable differs BIGTIME from a chevyguy. their idea of a reliable engine is one that lasts long enough to get them in a magazine and say how it beats chevys blah blah and how "suprising&unique" it is blah blah when in fact its been done many times before. not s**ting on the thread or the guys ride either. im actually a big fan of nicely built imports.

i know you say you weren't trying to shit on his car or anything but how are you not? i'd say 272WHP N/A from a 1.55L is pretty fuckin good. that'd be like one of use pushing 550hp from a N/A 3.1L. And i've read the old articles on the Endyn website, he ran that same motor for quite a number of years and it was completely reliable. Tranny as well. That guys knows his shit.

i agree at 27psi i would expect a little more hp for having 11.2:1 compression but whatever. it was only a supercharger so i can let that slide
