Crapalier Z24 and Colbalt would be way too much on insurance. Those little cars are quick with horrible crash ratings, and stupid people total them with ease (thats why they are so much on insurance). Cobalt would be cool but I would never lease a car and cant' afford new cars- and buying new cars is for suckers since they are worth like half as much in a couple years.

Are you sure about that insurance? Never heard of cavaliers being high.

Z24s are. Whenever I went to a used car dealership they'd try to steer me away from them and the Sunflower GTs, cause insurance is high for such a crappy car. Regular 2.2 OHV ones aren't however, but they sound like lawnmowers and I don't want one. Its gotta be either comfortable, fast (quick), or both.

And it SHOULD have a 60* under the hood!

This, coming from someone who was praising the L67 like it was touched by the hand of God, doesn't mean much.

You want gas milage and a 60 degree at the same time? Ha! Wait for the 3.6 to come into a car you can afford.

                  I didn't say I wanted a Z28 or something..

Anyways sorry if I'm confusing you guys (I tend to do this with lots of people). I think my main question is would a 3400 Alero get same/better gas mileage (with much better performance) over my 2.8 GP (assuming I'm easy on the gas)? Thats basically the reason why I am posting HERE on this forum.

my z24 gets the same gas mileage as my camaro used to, 18/28

My girls 3400 Grand Am gets bout 20 city n 30 high way...basically the same as my 92 GTP... if you want gas milage... Your not gonna get the best of both worlds.....

AS far as quick and over all good gas milage..best car i ever had was a 1992 Grand Am GT quad 4 DOHC 5 speed... car would get 35+ mpg on a high way and still run right w/my 3.4 DOHC.

Problem with this is...gas is goin up...Unless you buy a car that runs on soda or water..its not goin to be cheap no matter what u buy. I been battling this same situation w/ my g/f who think her car is gas hog just because the price of gas went up.

Maybe try finding way to make the 60 degree more efficent?

The newer ones have displacement on demand for increased fuel economy...
