  • Possible? Modify 660 roller tipped rockers for SBC

I know that that SBC con rods can be modified for use in 660's, but can any 660° roller tipped rocker arm be modified to fit on a gen 1 smallblock chevy for a mild performance gain?

I put this in the off topic area, because its for use on a the chevy V8.

    Thanks

I know there is plenty of aftermarket products for this application, I was just wondering if some cheap junkyard 660 parts might fit or if anyone else had tried something of this nature.

There are no roller-tipped rocker arms that come in ANY 660 from the factory. The only roller rockers are roller fulcrum units, of which would most likely not fit due to the size of the pedestal for the 660.

Alright, was thinking there might be similarities but looks like a dead end.

          Thanks

their advice will get you absolutely nowhere.

and to the OP...thats like asking if you stack 2 v6 cams in a row....will it work in a v12. short answer is no. long answer is no.

No it won't work. I have tried. Late model Vortecs had roller rockers in 98 I believe. I cannot recall if the trucks had switched to LS style heads during that time but I do not believe they did. If they did then you should be able to use the rockers from a 4.3L However they used an aluminum base plate that sat under all of the rocker fulcrums to keep them aligned. It did not use a fulcrum like a 660 rocker. You may have to do some minor modifications and cutting of the alignment base plates to make it work on a classic small block head.
