IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE
OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF
OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
    COMPANIES.

THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "LET THEM CHOKE ON THEIR OIL" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY
PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN
PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT
THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT
IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL
SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY,
WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE
YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE
CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

I'll do it. I just bought gas today.

But I'm not going to send that to anyone.

That's so fucking retarded. What does it matter if you DONT buy gas one day? I don't buy gas every day, and the people who don't on May 19th will just have to get more gas on the 20th. NOW, if May 19th were "Take off from work or take your bicycle to work" day, THEN that MIGHT make some sense since you're not using gas. Besides, the oil companies could just jack the price 20 cents more on May 20th

Here's a better idea. Everyone convert your cars to natural gas or propane. It's cheaper and cleaner, and the government will pick up the tab for the conversion!

How much petroleum is used by the average joe recieving this email anyway? It's industry that's burning up the bulk of the shit. Plus, they can't shut down on a whim either. Fuck with big-ass pumps and gensets burning 100+ gallons an hour running 24-7. Do you have any idea how much fuel one train locomotive uses. One of the connecting rods probably weighs more than your car. It makes the amount of gas consumed by your piddly little car kinda negligable. I'll tell you that much.

Will not buying gas on April 15 help lower gasoline prices?

So true, so true. Those people(?) who trade that stuff on the markets already drive the price of oil up on stupid shit like rumors. Something like a one day boycott might be too easy of a target for those people(?)

Seems like this email goes around at least once a year... there are enough people out there that don't have internet access that will still buy gas.

My 2 cents is if we back off from buying gas for one day, then China will have the relief. There half the reason gas is going up along with the war and fears. Besides $2 a gallon sucks but imagine having a boat that gets maybe 2 miles to the gallon. If its way to much, buy a motorcycle, most get anywhere from 40 to 70 MPG. Also, gas is costing me $2.50 at the marina, 300 gallons is $750.......lol But I have 2 tanks and I only fill the 125 gallon tank unless I plan on some 100+ mile out trip.. I dunno, just dont go driving around so much...

I won't mow all summer! GPX I'm tellin' my wife you said so. But the Email did make AOL front page news. Normal consumers use less than 12% of the oil. The independent users of mass oil need to shut down! i.e Truckers, shipping companies, and don't forget propane users! This gets really complex as to who should and can shut down. Bottom line is, nobody! Bite the bullet, pay for the gas, or don't eat or be warm or have electricity, or dadadada.......................................... Oil runs the world for now.
