Yes... Thanks...and I agree....but please transpose "Bob" for "You" in that sentence, since he will be the beneficiary of the find....and rightly so. You have no idea how much it troubles me to see him in such sad shape. He may not have ever been the "Brightest Penny in the Piggy Bank"... but there was a time when he could handle things much better in his life. How he has managed to survive so much treatment to kill the "BIG C" in his body is quite beyond my capacity to understand. He's even had two bone marrow transplants...and luckily...the most recent one 'took'. Somebody out there ... Some Good Soul...laid down on a table...and without anesthetic...allowed a doctor to drill like hell very painfully into their hip bones and draw out enough of themselves to bring him back from the brink of death. They gave him so much radiation that all the hair on his body fell out and his immune system was purposely destroyed in hopes that the stem cells in the Donor's Bone Marrow would nest in his bones and create a new blood supply and a brand new immune system... and it finally worked. His new blood type is not the one he was born with... it belongs to the Bone Marrow Donor who saved this man from a premature hole, six feet deep in the ground. Now THAT is what I call "Helping" somebody out.

We all know someone like this person ...and its important to absorb as many of their miseries as we can and try to give them at least a little dignity. In a few days time, he'll let me know of another little bit of trouble he is in; another minor crisis that has to be handled... and I promise you ...I'll do the best I can to help the guy out as long as I can. Today was sweet day for him though... and I'm glad for him....and so ends this thread on that happy note.

Well... I thought it would be in just a "few days time" that another crisis would arise...but I just got off the phone with Bob. He was up in Hudson, Florida trying to decide whether or not to buy a "Used Dump Truck" for ONLY around Fifty Grand!" But after a few minutes of reasoning with him... and telling the owner that if he continued to try and sell his machine to a crazy man that he would soon be seeing me in person and that if I had to drive up to Hudson to take care of this problem, this creep would wind up wishing that his Mother had never met his Father.

Convinced by my sincerity in the idea that I would Royally F*ck Him UP...he acquiesced and then put Bob back on the phone. It took a few more minutes, but I finally managed to "talk him off the ledge". Like I said before...One Crisis...One Friend...But Jesus Palomino...What am I going to DO with him?!!!

Its been said that, "No Good Deed Ever Goes Unpunished". Since last November, I have had the nagging problem of not being able to finish the engine swap/set up and run in of the new replacement Intek engine all because of the fact that the old dual stack pulley would not fit over the newer, more robust and larger OD crankshaft of the new motor. In between, Bob has challenged me time and again with other minor disasters this poor soul gets himself involved with, and yet in spite of many bouts with "Chemo-Brain" and endless calls about "when is that pulley going to be finished?" from Bob... I finally managed to cobble together a decent Dual Stack Pulley by modifying Bob's original 1" bore sized pulley assembly and having it machined on the ID to 1 1/8th" in order to accommodate the much more powerful Husqvarna/Intek engine crankshaft. But in doing so... the support tube looked very thin and weakened as a result. The only thing I could think of doing to solve the two problems of the machined off 1/4" inner Key way that mated male to female in the thicker crankshaft slot was to buy another pulley for him and carve off the parts I needed to sort of buttress and strengthen the outer wall of the tube while providing a new 1/4" X 1" steel blank "Key" slotted from the outside in and brazed in place at various stages to ensure a correct alignment and snug fit. I know I only have the skills of a journeyman Blacksmith when compared to the likes of John (Forced Firebird) and CNCguy... so I had to make do with what I had at hand to get it to work. This story ends here on the happy note that everything is installed and the motor is running right, with no undo or excessive vibrations due to any out-of-balance problems induced into the motor from the newly working dual stack pulley assembly. It Ain't Very Pretty... But it Works... and Bob seems very happy with this...so...

            ...All's Well...that Ends Well!
