Well as long as he's only after oil, I think we are pretty safe here in canada. But I guess once he sucks Iraq dry he'll come lookin'. no we ARE in big trouble.. im scared to think whats going to happen in the next few years when Drinkable Water starts to deplete in the US, as they have proven that clean usable water is starting to get on the worrysome side of things. and canada is full of natural clean water..

people have predicted that the next big huge natural resource to be fought over will be the water situation.. i just wonder what the US will make up for its campaign to come invade canada for our water. or what bullying tactics it will use...

true but what Bush is doing has nothing to do with either, don't be fooled by the lies he's out for the oil/money. Clinton did a lot more for our country and the world without invadeing countries and stealing their resources.

If this whole thing is for the oil, why did I just fill up for $2.15 per gallon this morning? I'm not trying to justify anything that's being done. I'm just saying that everyone is using this line and it really isn't coming true. OPEC is a cartel and controls the prices. Invading Iraq isn't going to do anything.

it is for oil. for big oil - the guys that own the companies(ie bush, cheney, and all their buddies). it isnt for keeping prices down, its for lining their pockets with more cash.

OPEC - a majority of our oil does not come from them. they dont control our prices. the big US oil companies do, but the american public is stupid. they see "opec cuts production" and get scared and the big oil companies raise prices and blame it on opec.

I see what you are saying. OPEC does have a part in it though. Are they not the ones that set the price of the barrel they sell to the big companies? Regardless of where we get our oil, those countries know they have the world's balls in a vise because we can fend for ourselves and get more oil. Well, we could, but that's a whole different subject (regarding pinecone-eaters and the like )

You did not see Bush, Cheney, or Haliburton, mention with this multi-billion dollar scandal(oil-for-food). The world bank is just as bad.

To sit here and point to one country or it's leader, aside from humor, is just like point to a mirror and saying it.

If you remember why US has a presence in the middle east currently, WMD is just starting to surface, there was a 14 month build up and a 48 hour notification before entering Iraq(acutally the root cause is US ties with the jews).

Remember that a couple of the terrorist that killed thousands on 9-11 came through US border countries. Not say the US security could not have been better but as we are finding out it was the US political system, especially the left overs from the Clinton Adm. neutering FBI/CIA to protect our civil rights that cost us the most lives. The Patriot Act is now in effect. We must unite to defend our current living standards or all will be lost as the terroist will see that they will end as we know it.

Corporations have an interest in other countries beside their own. If you can foster other countries prosperitiy, your country/business too can benefit. As our companies out source the recipient will tend to purchase more. That is what is driving up the demand in resources China, which raises our cost as supply is lowered and demand goes up. I am not going to get into the "guns and butter" of economics but an overview might help for some to see the bigger picture.

The US unemployment rate is about at it's norm. Five percent range is normal and bests most countries. Not all people are employable. If you don't have access to C-Span's then your definitely going to be persuaded by the media. I don't even watch Fox, MSNBC, CNN... but watch C-Span which plays the topic in full video form.
