  • I burned a chip for this today...

    Here's his blog page...
This site is created to document the progress of me and my cousin's 1988 BMW 325IS turbo built exclusively for the GRM challenge. It will begin with all of the older pics from the build and Challenge competition in 2007, and continue with the car in its current state of progress.

and some videos of the old turbo and tune (or lack thereof, I should say haha), now running a Volvo MAF, Holset hx35 and 24lb injectors...

He competes in the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge. They have to do a car show, drag race and autocross to gain total points with a car that cost less than $2009.00 (this year haha). It sounds like a fun competition. You are allowed to sell parts off the car to help your budget, but the total can't exceed the dollar amount that matches the year it is in...

Welcome to the home of Grassroots Motorsports, the hardcore sports car magazine—and your home for car reviews, tips, and road racing news.

    Some more vids and info...

I take it you are burning a chip for the stock BMW ECU?

I wish there was a tuner out there for the BMW OBD 2 stuff, so you can do your own tuneds. In the BMW world everyone refers you to a guy named Nick G for OBD2 tunes.

          Well I failed

I used a .bin from someone online and the car started and died a few times. He pulled the Volvo MAF off and went back to his previous tune...

Hopefully I can help him out and get it running with the new equipment before the event, but we will see.

I only charged him the $5 for the chip itself, and he forgot about the tolls on the way to my house, so had to give him a receipt for $3 haha.
