What year did the body styles change? My buddy has a late 80's and he wants new doors. What is interchangeable?

87 was still the square body style, 88 was the rounded body that went until 94(?)
The doors work for all years from 83 to 94, but in 90 or 91 the seatbelts were mounted on the door, after removing the seatbelt, there is a black metal tab high up on the corner of the door that the belt mounts to. doesn't look right with the belt removed. Sunbirds are the same (all years), but no other doors will work, they look way different.If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.
