Okay so after spending a day and a half of testing wires and connecting them, 2 wiring diagrams from Crutchfield and 12volt.com, I have come to the conclusion that wiring an aftermarket stereo into my Grand Prix sucks. My factory harness was cut off and the aftermarket harness was hardwired into the factory wires. I got an old factory plug out of a 93 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, same everything, got a aftermarket harness adapter and wired everything up. Radio comes on and everything, no sound. So I wired my rear speakers directly to the harness, still no sound. Since my GP has 6 speakers, does it have a factory amp that I have to bypass? I know it says on the Crutchfield wiring diagram that I would have to bypass the factory amp with an E5000 relay because its on a floating ground. Any help would be appreciated!

for ground, i always connect to the body of the car with the stereo... and i know my Regal had an amp i had to bypass to get the speakers to work, but the aftermarket harness adapter did that for me... it plugged into the output connector of the amp (not the amp itself but the harness that came OUT of it) there was a second harness that ran up to the stock radio... if i was you i would just run some speaker wire front to back and connect those suckers up straight to the deck. if that doesnt work, you must have problems with the deck itself... use a speaker from an old stereo or something to test the speaker outputs of the aftermarket deck. the speaker wires are white green purple and grey, the negative having the black stripe i think... but it will work (if it does work at all) if you hook the two purple or whatever wires to the two connections on the speaker that you know works.
if no sound, time for a new radio.

Does it have a Bose system? If so, your factory amp is under the rear deck, accessible from the trunk.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

No it didn't have Bose...might be the radio itself. But I hooked up the relay like it says on Crutchfield and give that a shot. This is what Crutchfield gave me as far as wiring:
FUNCTION PIN WIRE COLOR
Accessory 12 Volt 2 YW
Constant 12 Volt 1 OG
Chassis Ground 6,15 BK (2X)
Power Antenna 3 PK
Remote 3 PK (6-Spkr Only)
Illumination 5 BN
Dimmer 18 GY
Left Front Spkr + 9 TN
Left Front Spkr - 10 GY
Right Front Spkr + 7 L.GN
Right Front Spkr - 8 D.GN
Left Rear Spkr + 11 BN
Left Rear Spkr - 12 YW
Right Rear Spkr + 13 D.BU
Right Rear Spkr - 14 L.BU
*Data Line 17 D.GN
*VF PWM
Dimming Input 4 BN/WT
*DO NOT USE THESE WIRES!
Six-Speaker System Notes: If the car has six speakers, it has an amp that powers the door speakers. Otherwise, the wiring is the same as the four-speaker system. The amp is located behind the left side of the instrument panel. The inputs of the amp are wired in parallel with the front speakers. The amp accepts either a floating or common ground speaker level input. The amp receives all of its power from the power antenna lead, because of this an E5000 relay will be needed to power the amp if an aftermarket receiver is installed.
The relay should be wired as follows:
* Connect terminal 85 to the amp remote wire of the new receiver.
* Connect terminal 86 to the BK wire of the Crutchfield adapter.
* Connect terminal 30 to the RD wire of the Crutchfield adapter.
* Connect terminal 87 to the BU wire of the Crutchfield adapter.
* Tape off terminal 87A of the relay.sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!

I took apart the stereo, glad I did or I would of just kept playing with my wiring LMAO. Loook like someone tried to re-solder something on it and did a real crappy job of it. Go figure. LOL Anyhow, I'm going to get a 7" flip up LCD. Maybe this will be the end of my stereo problems. BTW, the radio I was talking about was a Pioneer.sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!

Mine in my truck happens to be a Pioneer. It came in the truck when I got it. It's detachable face and has custom burned out backlights-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

I think Mazdas and Hondas are the easiest IMO for installing anything. Running wires and hiding em are easy enough if you done enough in your time. On most cars, I can get done in 20 min or so.sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!

lol say what you will, but thats how EVERYTHING is nowadays... for 99% of the work i do on cars (and i work on cars trucks vans and suvs every day doing various electronic installations and repairs) i dont really need much other than wiring tools. to take things apart to run wires the last car i needed a screw driver on was my lumina!!! haha i cant even honestly remember something that had the step sills screwed down.
Nissan Pathfinder, it was a mid 90s one, like a 94 or something. and i had to install trailer wiring on to it, had to unscrew the panel that runs across where the back door opens to run wires from the right tail light over to the left. thats about it. i work on dodge vehicles most... and can pull an interior out quite quickly... its my favorite part of the job.
