The driver side door handle was changed and it is a pain in the butt to open. My door wont even lock from the outside anymore. Does anyone have a diagram of how the door actuator arm and door lock actuator are supposed to be? Cause every setup I did they tend to cross each other. This is on a 2 door coupe.

I don't have a diagram on hand, but if I remember tomorrow, I will snap a pic of the one on the 91. I've replaced the handle on that one and it does indeed lock, unlock and open like it's supposed to. I wasn't about to have it not function correctly before I declared it done. Besides, the cover is half falling off on that car making it easier to snap a pic.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Thanks! I'd really appreciate it. I don't know if its missing parts or what plus the arms crossing problem. Do you know if these cars came with a factory keyless entry option? I know mine has factory power door locks so Im not sure.sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!

The higher end W's I think did. Ones like your GP and the Cutty's. Not sure what year they started it though. I know both of my cars have power locks, but not keyless.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

It is recommended that all the cantilevered pin points where the long armatures inside the door meet and are either pinned together or have sliding contact get a nice dollop of Lithium Grease. If you can get your door panel off (without losing your mind as I did when I suffered from this problem), and work the interior door lock slide from the inside, then you will be able to see all the contact points and you'll know where the grease can be applied that might help to reduce the collective friction. In addition to that, a squirt of Graphite Powder into the external door lock key hole can add to reducing the load on the key while trying to unlock all that inner hardware and not have to worry about snapping the key off inside the lock.

He is talking about the hardware for the handle in the rear window pillar, not inside the door.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Thank you for clarifying that. Yeah its the arms that attach to the lock and the door handle under the security plate. I went to the yard today and luckily they had a 93 GP SE, its been sitting all the way in the rear of the yard which was good long walk to it and the door handles were already gone! Must be a really popular item. Also, my door on the door handle the bottom part that looks like a weight or something at the bottom, is longer compared to ones I have seen in stock pics. Could that be the problem?sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!

I've no idea. I have yet to have a free second to snap a pic of that >.< Also my junk batteries for my camera need to charge. And yes, they are a popular item. So popular a local yard won't sell used ones. They stock brand new aftermarket ones. I think they wanted somewhere around $50-70 each?
Edit: I just looked on Advance's website. They want $49 each. Here is their listing for my 92:

Ok here's another issue kinda related to the same thing. I'm installing a trunk lock and I look online for several other trunk locks for a 2dr coupe. There is one with a small tongue and a long tongue. The one I had is for a trunk solenoid and has a square back on the rear of the lock cylinder so it slides in to the plastic piece that has a cable coming out of it. Anyone know or have any pics of how this is set up with the tongue? Or is this a GM Direct part?sigpic1993 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, 3.4L DOHC 24 Valve V6 MFPI, 5 speed, completely stock, bucket on a budget!
