  • More turbo Vette pics

Ok so im sorry about the cell phone pic quality... I will get some better pics and more complete car pics.... so here is the latest... Intercooler now stands upright behind the bumper cover and is working very well (warm on charge side, COLD on outlet side), the radiator now sits angled forward below the turbo and gets MUCH more air... (had some heating problems), Turbo blanket is installed and we cut a hole in the hood (simmilar to the C6 ZO6) hood and fiber glassed in some mesh... Looks pretty sweet actually LOL not to Fast and Furious... ok maybe just a little! the scoop sits over the filter on the turbo and allows cold air to come in and HOT air to vent out when at a stop (again overcoming heating issues).

License plate cover cut out for more IC air flow^^^^

only one hairdryer? seems like with an engine that big, you wouldn't be able to find a good single turbo

Turbo is plenty big. Its a Garrett GT4088. there is only one bigger size (GT4202) without going to a "T6" framed turbo.. it spools nice and it holds boost nicely to redline.

^^^ Did it with a dremmel lmao! ^^^

it sure is flatt black.. its getting a full "hot rod Black" more of a satin finish here in about a week. Its pretty damn fast, HP tuners is being ordered and doing a more extensive tune also in the next week or 2. only pushing it about 1/2-3/4 throttle it, needing a good tune it will put you in the seat pretty quick. 10psi spring about 8 to the motor.

Single turbo on a V8 would not have too much turbo lag. But I agree, one snail of that size would not take too much PSI not to mention it would have the same output as a supercharger. Plus it would be a lot easier to route your IC hoses on both sides compared to one side. It looks like he was trying to do the same thing a turbo'd Supra I6 setup would do. But I doubt it would work on a v8 setup like the same way an I6 setup would work. If you wanted a good turbo, good bang for the buck, a pair of Holsets would do quite nicely. I seen a few turbo charged Vettes on Lingenfelter's website I'd pick up.
