    Hello,
    I just sent my daughter off to college in our 1995 Camaro 3.4 that I thought was fixed but I was wrong. The problem is with acceleration over half throttle causes a cut out that makes the tac drop and bounce back up as the engine falters. I have recently replaced the ignition module, coils, wires, plugs and EGR with other used units. It took over 150 miles to act up again, the engine light came back on and we limped it to the college. The codes prior to the college trip were 3 EGR related codes and the ABS inoperative light comes on periodically as well. Any tips on diagnosis or things I'm missing?

    if i remember correctly the camaro ECM has codes for each EGR solenoid, so that is telling me either the EGR is junk again and stuck open (not likely) or there is a lot of carbon build-up in the passages in the intake for the EGR. that will definitely set codes though it wouldn't necessarily make it run bad.

    the ABS sounds like a different issue entirely.

    and if it takes over 50% throttle, that might be a fuel issue.
    1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

      I also had a 95 3.4L Camaro myself. Take the car to a shop and have the fuel presure checked, check also fuel filter. Also for the ABSINOP light. The Camaro's with drum brakes have what's known as a 3-channel setup. There will be a toothed ring @ the rear axle attached to the pinion shaft and one or these rings @ each of your front wheels.
      These are known as reluctance wheels. Each will also have it's own sensor. Check for damage to each, sensor and reluctance wheel because (in a nut shell) these are what the ABS system uses to vary brake fluid pressure under hard braking. Also check the ABS fuse. Hope this helped, good luck..

        I have not had a chance to scan the ABS module to check for codes or sensor errors but will be when possible. I am not sure it is fuel related but I may be wrong. The way the tac drops, it seems to be an electrical glitch. I could be overlooking the EGR issue also but I am wondering about the crank sensors. Why two, I don't know but they control timing and couldn't any problem they have be accentuated by heat and accelerating?

          One of the two crank sensors is a high resolution sensor for SFI to work (only under 2 or 3k rpms, I'm not sure which but it's basically for smoother idle and emissions). If the main one didn't work, you wouldn't be going anywhere. I think you are on the right path though. You might want to check out the harness to the sensor in the side of the block.
