You sir, with your thumb up your ass. How would you like a really expensive and poorly marketed stock/bored throttle body? Its a 56mm throttle body, bored 55mm all the way through "where it counts" at the plate. Stock was 52, but we bored it to 55mm cause that is the most it will go. Nevermind those stock 56mm throttle bodies that work, this is bored and half the shaft is missing so it flows as much as a 58mm. Proven? FUCK NO! We don't deal with proof on ebay, we just make up some shit and you pay far out the ass for it. YEEHAW! Fits aleros, camaros, and firebirds. How is this possible? Magic.

I'd like to return my TCE 65mm unit to have the "half-shaft" mod done.
ROFL!!
BTW I have a 56mm unit bored and sleeved to 62mm that unfortunately DOESN'T have the "half-shaft" mod for sale for ALOT less than $210.00.Last edited by asylummotorsports; 07-08-2009, 11:34 AM.

hahaha 220 bucks
id like to return my 65mm tce all together. instead im gonna get this fine piece of work.
i should email them asking to see some pics with calipers in them to see the exact diameter. it looks like a stock tb with half the shaft missing.
hahaha just looked at the pic again it looks like they used the security torx screws. guess they dont want the average person that doesnt have the security bits to take the blade offLast edited by geldartb; 07-08-2009, 11:02 AM.sigpic

I scored one of those harmonic balancer and installer toolkits that Advance rents out for about $37 after shipping. Not bad IMHO considering if you rent that tool it's just under a $100 bill and the cheap balancer and steering wheel puller is what, $20-25? There are some good and legit deals on ebay still. By the way Ben, you should have gone into marketing instead of selling performance parts, you almost sold me with my attached TB on my DOHC :P-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

LMAO, i was crying laughing when i seen that & read what you had to say about it, & that's exactly right! ebay is this magical realm of fairies and unicorns, where bigfoot drives a 93 olds alero & leaf blowers add 150hp, a place where you can buy a $0.35 resistor for $35 & is the only tuning you need to do before you pump 14 psi from you leaf blower supercharger, and maybe (just maybe) if the ebay gods favor you, the fuel & spark tuning of a $0.35 resistor, and your awesome $50 ebay CAI will all work together with your tornado fuel saver to give you a total of 550+ WHP on your 89 toyota camry, and it only cost you $400 & 3 month to correct all the order fuckups!! now all you need is a set of wal-mart spinners & some hardass looking decals & watch the ladies roll in!!
No, the laws of physics, gravity, flow, nor common sense itself, can help but bend to the will of the allpowerful EBAY. There is a term for this phenomena, and it is Ebay Magic
did anyone happen to notice that hes an old guy selling a bunch of these all modified like this to different extents?Last edited by no_doz; 07-08-2009, 12:50 PM.

on a side note i hope the poor bastard who buys that doesnt have an auto trans or his shit is going to always be given like 1/4 throttle & either he'll launch his car into a neighbors house or take it to a mechanic to findout whats wrong and get charged $600 for it

you forgot to mention the improvements in fuel economy though...
and manual or auto, its still going to have too much air flowing through at idle, meaning the IAC is probably going to close completely and still not idle right, which means there's going to be codes set AND it will run like shit...
i think i want one now

Well Gentleman... Since I suspect this post is being directed at me and my first foray into changing the TB/Manifold hardware on a 60* car, I'll take my punishment like a man and answer Ben's subject title question:
Yes... I am Dumber than Dumb.
I'm Dumber even than Dumbass the eBay seller who sold me this Throttle Body...because in my complete ignorance of intake manifold vs. throttle body volumetric efficiency, I assumed there would be some modest but appreciable performance improvement. How was I to know that "Half-Shaft" was really meant to coax me into being "Half-Assed"...? After buying it for my son son's car, I actually came to this forum seeking help about whether putting this TB on the stock UIM with a smaller opening of 52mms would be a problem. I was given much advice on how to improve the situation(from Ben and some other members) and in the process, I learned how to do my own aluminum intake mod, first hand and for the first time. So I learned an interesting lesson from you all...and wound up putting it to good use...or perhaps not as this post explains.
In the absence of the knowledge and understanding on this subject you all seem to possess, I had no idea that I was on a Fool's Errand. Perhaps this humiliation will serve to put me wise for the next time I step foot into completely unfamiliar mechanical areas...without any proper guidance or forewarning. Maybe what is called for is something like a "Primer" on this subject of TBs & Manifolds that could be titled, "Before you do something Stupid while trying to improve your TB Performance..." and help Dumbasses...like me...from becoming Dumbasses in the first place. And now, if you would not mind (no doz), I'd like to know why, after this hardware is installed in this vehicle, you believe it will launch itself like a Solid Rocket Booster when 1/4 throttle is applied. I would appreciate knowing what you understand about it so that I may stop it from happening.
Thanks to you all, Gentlemen...

also, below0-i like your use of a capital D in dumbass, and if you didnt know in the first place no one can blame you, no one is born with this knowledge & we can only learn from being taught by both experience, and by others (with the exception of a lot of sarcasm this forum is great for learning these things). a real man can admit when he's messed up as you have done, therefore you are not a dumbass.
a dumbass would try & argue as to why that tb is the most badass thing since sliced bread.
also the reason i made the 1/4 throttle comment is because the tb's purpose is to limit the flow of air into the engine, by opening the tb you are allowing in more air, your car's computer recognizes this & applies more fuel (air/fuel have to be ratioed properly, way too much or too little could result in your engine not running, and your car's computer is designed to keep this ratio to a specific setting), the result is bigger explosions & therefore more power.
when the tb is closed, its supposed to not allow much air in whatsoever, & the amount of gap between the flapper (probably not the proper term) and the walls of the tb itself should NOT be there-& is the equivalent of probably 20-25% throttle, & your car's computer is probably going to recognize that something is wrong and go into limp mode-run like crap-im not really sure-never tried it.
im sure one of these other fine gentlemen could offer you as to what response this may illicit from your car's computer (i doubt it will be a good one).Last edited by no_doz; 07-08-2009, 04:01 PM.

I am pretty sure that the TB in question includes a new throttle plate, so the stock gap is maintained. So therefore your theory is wrong.-Brad-
