Because I like the sound of a chambered muffler... I don't like glass packed mufflers, and who cares, I open my 3" header dump when I'm at the track... I think that's about as close as you can get to the least amount of kinks, turns, and flattened pipes in a system.

I don't need the 10hp it may rob on the street.

Note, that I said it droned with a straight pipe to that muffler... not with the cat.

Didn't meant to start a debate. I like the chambered sound too on your car. And I know you have a cut-out. I don't, mine is strictly a street machine, so no drone and max power is what I'm looking for all the time. I was speaking more in general for street use. Good to know the cat kills the drone. What brand cat are you using now? I thought you had a catco on old red that clogged up, what's on pink?

got mine at the local meijer for $20, and a chrome turndown(thats no longer chrome) and it slipped right over the end of the cherry bomb(grinding some of the red paint off of the end, but i painted it black anyway), hasn't came off yet. welding isn't necessary, but it won't leak as much as a regular clamp. be sure to measure the ID of the muffler, and the OD of the pipe before the muffler, if you're lucky like me, it'll just slide right over and you can weld it there.

Having a backup system in case you screw something up or don't like the way it sounds is a good idea If you guys hear about some guy in Elkhart stealing an exhaust off of a Ranger, it wasn't me
