Can u hook up a amp to power all 4 speakers to the stock head unit?

  • #2
Now that is a good question.

I have a somewhat rare Delco am/fm/cd in my Beretta and it has no power at all.

Can this be done just to give it some umph?

I think you can as long as there is a remote wire to kick on the amp.

You can buy an adapter that ties into the rear speakers to convert the high voltage into low voltage rca's to add a sub amplifier. Or you can use two of them to do the front and rears to an amplifier and then your speakers. If you do this it should be put close to the head unit and RCA ran so if you change to aftermarket later the rca's are already ran. Some amplifiers have high voltage inputs on them and then you can go directly to the speakers or subs from the amp. either way you will have to run new speaker wire to the speakers from the amp.

I take it you want the deck to stay stock because you like it.. The power antenna lead can be used as a remote turn on wire for the amp.

I knew there was more to it that I was forgetting... Thanks for the clarification.
