late 80's 2.8 blazers-how much do they weigh

if anyone on here has a late 80's blazer 4x4-how much do they weigh? im looking at getting an 87 2.8 auto 4x4 for the woman & putting a 3.4 in it, or getting a jeep cherokee 2.8 4x4 and putting the 3.4 in it-from what ive been reading jeep cherokees with 4.0's in em & 4x4 weigh 3000-3100lbs which is only about as much as my 2 door 3.1 lumina-whereas a 91 blazers with 4.3s & 4x4 weigh closer to 3800lbs.

also-i figure a hybrid 3.4 will weigh a decent bit less than the straight 6 or the 4.3, anyone know how much the difference is?

A 4X4 Cherokee with a 4.0L will weight in the neighborhood of 4000lbs most likely a bit under the S-10's are about the same. A 2WD S-10 weighs 3200 to 3500 lbs depending on options. Don't forget Trooper and Rodeos. They are better trucks and cheaper than the Chevy or Jeep. If you actually buy any of the above trucks then talk engines.

everywhere i look this is held up within 50lbs or so-which amazes the crap outta me that there is a 700lb difference!! also im asking the weight question before i even consider getting a blazer if its gonna be that heavy in comparison to a cherokee-is im not going to be saving much weight with the 3.4 hybrid then ill just say screw it and go with the cherokee- neither are in short supply-altho its pretty hard for me to find a 2.8 version of either for cheap unless i get lucky.

yea thats what im thinking-but it says the same thing in like 5 different places...the new ones are listed as a lot heavier tho. im still baffled here-anyone have an early 90's 4x4 cherokee they wanna weigh for us?

I don't buy it. Maybe with a 4 banger 5 speed and no options. A YJ weighs 3400lbs with a 4.0L and thats a small vehicle with a minimal interior and body.

its gotta be for real-its prolly cuz they have no hard frame like an s10 or blazer but still, less than my 2 door lumina at 4x4 with a 6 cylinder, im surprised they dont haul a lot more ass than they do!

Yea they are a unibody. But they are shitty offroad vehicles because of that fact. They also have weak axles front and rear

my MC is a unibody... as is any w-body... none of them weigh less than a blazer though.
