  • Rear window squeek

It seems that my subs have loosened the seal or something around my rear window, since when I drive and it's quiet, depending on temperature my rear windows squeaks like MAD while I drive. I believe it is due to the subs since this happened in my old sedan GP as well with the same subs.

Fairly surprising actually since it is only 300W between 2 10's in a ported box. Enough to keep me happy and not make my trunk buzz too bad.

I usually just have my music going loud so I don't notice, but if I have someone else in the car and we are trying to talk, I want to punch someone due to the noise my back window makes. Lets just say you wouldn't want to take a date somewhere when the window is making this noise!

The window doesn't leak or anything... is there any way to resolve this?

I know that the plastic rear seal on w-bodies between the edge of the trunklid and rear window likes to squeak when it's freezing out. Best bet would be to park the car, have the right type of music on that the squeaking occurs, then go around the car and find the culprit. Usually pressing firmly on panels (interior and exterior) will narrow it down by sound change.

Yup, when ice gets back on my rear window between the trunk lid and window it will squeak. When it thaws it goes away. I even got the trunk open one time when it was cold, closed it and the noise went away. Yes I pulled over and did that cause it was driving me nuts. LOL

Silicone spray on weather seals helps prevent ice from freezing things shut and might stop the squeak on the trunk.

Yeah I've used silicone spray, and in extreme cases dielectric grease. Lasts a longer time too.
