  • how to remove swirls on paint

Just wondering what you use to remove swirls or rejuvenate the paint on your rides.
My paint is faded not the best but what do you expect for a 20 year old car.

good thing is it still beads water.

Looks like it needs a wash! A good hand wash will get rid of the ashy looking white dirt and on a light colored car, gets rid of the black stuff. Powerwashers don't get the greasy grime off. For swirls, don't polish your car improperly. My car has none, no one has really touched the paint but me with hand washing. Some cars are swirled to death from buffing and drying with dirty towels. Some good polish (not buffing compound!) and do it by hand or if the whole car a good DA and keep it moving and don't apply pressure.

this place is pretty good for info and these people on here know there shit. ive seen some topics where they took a black car that was wicked dirty with nasty ish all over it and made it look showroom new.

alot of people will suggest the two bucket method when washing. One bucket has the soapy water that you wash the paint surface with. The second bucket has the rinse water that you rinse off the sponge

I've just got one of those sheep wool mits, spray the car down, soap it up with the mit, then rinse the car. I use soft water so no spots. I use a second wheel only mit and the left over soap water to do the wheels. When I do the car I start at the top and work down to the dirtiest stuff. If you have stuck thick crap like mud/guts etc take it to the car wash first and power wash that crap off. Then hand wash the grime off at the house. That's all I've ever done to mine and people comment how shiny it is and ask if I just washed it when it's really dirty and I haven't washed it for months! LOL _shrug_

ive had good luck with meguiars gold class soap its not expensive for a pretty good sized jug

ive washed my car in the summer with this and it doesnt dry on the car but obviously you cant wait forever but its not going to dry immediately.
