  • Unique Whips??? Long Island?

Saw this new show on the Speed channel called Unique Whips or rides or whatever. They do up cars all fancy but it doesnt really peak my interest as I'm not one for "bling". What does peak my interest is that it takes place on LongIsland. Thought that was cool... Thy do show some guide signage that shows I-495 goes to Holbrook...It sure as shit doesn't but I guess that is where this guys shop is at. Oh well those in this area might appreciate this show..It'll put LongIsland on the map for a little while. Like we need to let more people know where LI is at...Got enough people here with all the friggen traffic.

I'm personally not into those kind of modifications but they seem to do high quality work.

I guess I would've needed digital cable because I haven't had the speed channel for quite a while with basic.

They make stuff look pretty on the top but most of the work is borderline shoddy. There used to be a thread on a s-10 forum I'm a member of that had some pics from different shops repairing Unique Autos work and some of it was plain sad. I know from working with fiberglass making boxes myself I wouldn't trust any of what I've seen them do past a few months.

Then again most people that shop there either have too much money and don't care or just want the name cause the shop is on TV.

I'm not sure about some of the guys in the shop, but I know the guy I know (Gary Biggs) is VERY good at the fiberglass work he does. Prior to him working there, he worked for Kicker. And before that, he worked for Car Toys out of Tulsa, OK. Between his car (82 Buick Regal) and the owner's car (Rob Rice, 91 (??) Honda Accord), both of which he did all of the fiberglassing on, they either won or placed in the top 3 at both USAC and IASCA finals for like 6 years in a row, if not more.
