then you setup filters. as well as get in touch with your ISP and others who use the same ISP and push for them to offer some kind of filtering or virus protection on their end.
they did it here and it is wonderful
I had My ISP wipe my Adderess box clean on their POP server or whatever it is..They changed something>they ended up scrubbing everyones mailbox and the servers were down for 2 days thanks to my alert to the providers or they wouldn't have done anything.
Supposedly my provider set up a new network filtering Daemon running on a group of separate servers that communicate with each other specifically and recall commands to store user blocking, filtering, and group blocks to spread the network, a person can just mail the daemon with specific E-mail address, IP address, origination IP's, and ports to either block, filter, or monitor. The daemon can either fix, clean, or destroy any email that is in a certain assocation..It is not automatic on the filter or block side, the daemon requires user input, it is automatic for malicious code, or email sent from a corrupted server.
Daemon for a lack of a better word, I am not sure what they call it, but I recieve messages from the Daemon when someone attempts things.
Down side is E-mail is a bit slower safe though, my ISP said the performance will increase on the next downtime sceduled for late summer.
Get this, it even scans for profanity and will destroy it depending on word count.
