No worries here. There's no skin off my nose. If I really worried about what everyone had to say about SBCs, I'd have no time for anything else.
I'm not going anywhere and besides I can't find the damn ball anyway
Sorry, I didn't mean to insult anyone, I get kinda touchy about SBCs, everyone up here has one and there all " built" and putting out 400-450 horse. Its just sickening how dumb most of the v-8 chev people are. Hey my open element air cleaner on my 305 Blazer added 25 horse! The glasspack another 30! This kind of ignorance seems rampant up here. There are hundreds of "Car Guys' but only a hand full of people who know what they are talking about. When I say anything about my Z-24 or my Lumina the first response is " why don't you put a smalblock in it? GRRRRRRRR, I feel my blood pressure rising again. Theres just too many assholes up here who look down at anything thats not a smallblock chevrolet. Everyones idea of a muscle car is a 69 Camaro with a "Built" 350. Yawn
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.
You didn't insult me. I agree there's more to cars and engines than Camaros and 350s. In addition to the 4 cars I have listed, I also have a BMW 735, an 83 VW GTI, a Volvo 760GLE wagon, and an Astro van. I'll guarantee you none of these cars are getting a SBC...

Hah! that's not limited to people with SBCs who think their air filter will add 25 HP! I've seen many people who believe these advertising claims (i work at autozone)...
Ehh, a 69 camaro with a 350 is boring... Now a 69 camaro with a 302 is another subject =)
Cliff Scott
89 BerettaGT
89 Volvo740
65 GTO <-muscle car?
i will give it to ya. a 69 camaro with a 350 is boring. a car so big, so light, yet an engine so small.
a 69 camaro with a bill mitchel 632 with a bds blower. now there's a frame twisting muscle car.
hell, i would trade my z-34 for a big-block musclecar anyday. although i wouldn't drive it too much due to rising gas prices.
but bolt-ons do add more power to larger engines.
welcome to the forum
i gotta ask this question.(sorry don't get out of the U.S. much) do u get any looks driving that 78 around?
or are american muscle cars kind of common?
next how fast have u gone on the autobahn?
sorry don't have any advice for a 3.1.

There's not many 2nd gen Camaros running around here. Not many of anything that I've noticed. Germans that do have them probably don't drive because te price of gas is way ridiculous. The only reason my 78 might get any strange looks could be because its bright orange. I bought and built the car in Japan. Believe it or not there's more 2nd Gens in Japan than any country other than the US.
How fast have I been on the Autobahn? Sustained, about 260kph (162mph) in my BMW 735i. Only about 135 mph (216 kph) in the 78 Camaro. That was a horrifying ride to say the least. The car just wasn't built to go that fast for a sustained length of time.
