  • Charging issue

For some reason my battery light has been on. Went and had someone run a test on my it and they said the battery was fine, right at 12 volts. But when i started my car it was pushing 15. I've never had an alternator overcharge. Fairly new one, about 4 months.

    Any ideas?

Probably a bad regulator, new alternator, probably defective. Warranty the bitch.

okay... i went to the place where i bought the alt. from. they seemed to have a better system. They said the battery was bad. So I'm going to swap it with my dad's and i guess that will eliminate the battery if it's fine.

It isnt a Napa alternator is it? My little brother replaced his Napa alternator 4 times before he got a good one. then he sold the car. i like Napa but even the guys that work there say their electronics suck.
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

Anything rebuilt that NAPA sells is shit. I know first hand. I was on the assembly line.

thats nice to know. Got it from advanced auto parts. I don't know they may get there parts from napa but i don't think they do. not sure.

Alot of parts stores get parts from the same distributors. At optimax we sold engines to genuine auto parts, napa, bumper to bumper and I'm pretty sure a couple others as well. However, I believe that those stores were all affilates of the UAP/NAPA corporation.
