  • Theives have keys

Well this morning my truck got broken into. They stole my Deck, Guages and Subs. They were not able to get the amp because I had secured it to a 1/4" plate of aluminum with Allan head bolts. They also broke into my brothers truck and stole his sub and amp.

They thing is they had keys for both vehicles. So they must have previously come buy and got the VIN numbers and got someone they know to cut them. They worked very quietly because my dog didn't wake up and he sleeps in my room right above the driveway and the window was wide open. He usually growls if he hears people talking outside at night.

They also trashed my dash pretty bad taking the deck so It may be a write off. But I will still keep it and fix it myself.

Pretty savvy thieves! Lot of trouble for so little.

true even though it cost you alot, all of it sold for about $150-$200 on the steet.

you sure they didn't slim jim it, personally if i had the ability to get keys cut for any gm car and i was a thief, i would be going after caddy's vette's and things of that nature.

also i would sell the keys to other thieves.

Well cutting key for a Vette or Caddy is very expensive. A dealer would know if those keys went missing. Also most are sold with factory alarms.

It is possible they used a slim Jim. But there isn't a mark on anything on the outside. There is still a layer of dust on the window seal on both sides from my truck being at work. I noticed yesterday they turned the interior light knob off same with my brothers truck.

i highly doubt they had keys-a lot of the more unscrupulous members of society i used to hang out with would jack shit from cars & its easier than ud think. a lot of em would use slim jims-but on some vehicles that doesnt really work all too well-& when that didnt work they had a lock picking set that you can pick up for like 20 bucks-& worst comes to worst i knew a guy that bought a big ring of misc keys that if used right would open just about any older car in the u.s. (they werent legit keys-they were made to pop open locks in doors & ignitions)-that or they couldve just used a bump key which can be made with a key blank for that particular vehicle as long as u have a 1.50 key blank-a file-& a little time to make it (less than an hour).
