I haven't seen a dentist or doctor yet, but I'm pretty sure that I recently developed Temporomandibular Joint disorder. Damnit.
Anyone else have a problem with TMJ?

did you have braces as a kid? my girlfriend is having jaw trouble and another person she knows had to have their jaw broken and re-aligned because they stretched everything into place with braces while they were growing up and things started moving back some as an adult.
Yes, but it was pretty minor adjustment. I was missing two adult teeth, never came in (they just don't exist, they aren't still up there because that does happen sometimes). So the braces just brought everything in to fill the gaps. I didn't need to have braces very long. I haven't worn my retainer in a looong time either. I don't think it has to do with my braces. My sister had stuff done with her jaw with braces and headgear, and she got TMJ a while ago.
Stress and depression can bring it on, and I think I've just been too tense lately. I have a dentist appointment in three weeks, we'll see if I can relax by then. I'm taking a week of vacation too, headed down to California with some friends. That might help.
