  • Road Trip Games

    So, I'm headed to California next month with a friends family. They'll be hauling five kids down and three back (ages 3-13). What are some fun road trip games to keep the kids occupied?

    Now that I think about it, I think we're driving down at night. But I'm sure there'll still be some game time on the 10 hour trip.

    I work at a local pizza shop between semesters....we've started what we call "the A to Z game". Here's how it works
    1. Pick a category- We've used everything From "song names" to "US Cities" to "things found in a porn shop" to "Alcoholic beverages".
    2. Everyone starts on "A" and tries to come up with something within the category for every letter, without duplicating.

    Like this:
    Category= "Car Parts"
    Alternator
    Brake caliper
    Camshaft
    Dedenbear (brands will also fit in the category!)....etc, etc.

    So, pick a category, start on A go to Z, everyone stays on the same letter until everybody gets an answer or they pass....
    Points awarded like this:
    Category = "Food"
    Beans =1 point (one word starting with B)
    Baked beans= 2 points
    Boston Baked Beans = 3 points
    etc etc

    Have fun!

      I've seen roadtrip bingo before. The boards had states and car colors on them. You would mark your square with the color of the car and the state from which the car was plated. Or you could play the "Revenge of the Nerds" version of the bottles of beer on the wall. They started at what, one million?
