ok so im retarded, which Godforsaken piece of monkey shit four cylinder has the oil filter in the FUCKING OILPAN? Is it that completely worthless fucking pile of Tech 4? Someone please tell me I'm not crazy. I know I've changed oil on those fucking pieces of shit. I hate anything with less than 6 cylinders, unless its in something with less than 4 wheels. Than I like it. Alot. Ok time to take my meds.
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

Cartridges sound like a stupid fucking idea to me. But I'm probably 100% positive that those GM engineers absolutily couldn't use a convetional oil filter. Fuck, a guy could probably buy an aftermarket kit for 50 bucks, and relocate that bitch and use a conventional filter. Can you even buy those cartridges from anyone other than GM?

If it's such a bad idea then why does BMW and Mercedes use it. It's actually a better Idea then a sealed filter. Think about it every time you do an oil change you can see the crap that is going through that filter, w/out having to cut it open. Yes, all filter companys make them.

BTW, the Tech 4/Iron Duke is the older 4cyl engine that Zboy is talking about using the cartriges. The Ecotec also uses a Cartrige.

i dont see the whole fuss about having the filter in the pan/engine compared to a "conventional" filter.....

they both do the intended purpose for filtering oil.
think how much material is saved (well not wasted) from not making the sealed filter and making them as a cartridge.

the ecotec filters are freaking simple to change. same with the 3.5L DOHC engine.
alot easier than some places they stick those damned filters on some vehicles...
