  • Clearing Taillights and Sidemarkers

Has anyone tried this on a W-Body? I've found several sites that give me the general idea of clearing the tails and side markers, but none list a specific temperature for the oven. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it - I'd hate to screw this up and have to go to Pick Your Part for new lenses,...

I saw this mod on a car too. So I flagged the driver down and asked him how he did it. Told me just to have someone bash in the lights and break the cover .. and wham bam .. you got clears!!

But anyways man .. that shit is RICE ..

        Noooo,.....My peers disapprove!
Well, they're not going to be completely clear - I've got an idea that will dispel any rice associations And really, does anyone think the amber side markers look good? Clear corners, at least, give the car a really clean appearance, IMO

Depends on the color of the car as to how good or bad clear tails look. White car, you can get away with it. Black car, you need to be beaten with some clear tails.

Yes, black car, but I'm going to niteshade the 'interior' part of the lense,...somewhat hard to explain, I'll see if I can whip up a picture when I get home from NAIT.
And, conversely, what if I blacked out all my lenses? What would everyone say then? :P

It would look better than clear. I dunno what niteshade is though but it sounds like an in between.

Ok, here's an extremely crap two minute MSPaint of my idea: It's only clear along the perimeter of the lense, where the 'grain' (for lack or a better word) of the lense changes direction. The 'interior' of the lense is Niteshaded and I'll be using a colored bulb, or LED setup if I feel particularly ambitious, to provide red light.
