  • Motor mount question

    Have a 95 Beretta with a shot
    MM - top, passenger side.
Just bought a new insert but
cannot seem to get the old
one out. Two bolts hold the
    new insert but there are
none on the old one. Just
fluid dripping out the the two
    holes at the bottome.
    No welds or nothing, so
howz the old insert come out????
    sorry if I sound stupid

No idea. I just grabbed a new mount from a junkyard when mine went. Grand ams and other cars around the same year with 3100 have them.

Good luck. And after you get it fixed up, add one of these:

They are $15 shipped!! and really help the motor from moving around. I did that on my mount a few months back and it was worth every penny. No more worrying about destroying the mount!

Yeah no idea how it comes out. I have a 94 busted mount here (I upgraded to the better 95 style) and I couldn't figure it out either one day. I'm guessing the new one you bolt in from the bottom but the original is held in some other way... Maybe gotta rip it out? Might be bonded in...

I was able to unbolt mine I thought..? I just replaced mine a couple months ago. I do remember it being kind of a pain though.

Back when I did one when I worked for a shop, I seem to remember something about some bolts in the tire well. I think we just jacked the car up and was able to get them. We didn't even remove the tire.

I think he's referring to actually removing the rubber insert from the metal frame. not the frame from the car itself.

                after some hammering and
                screwdriving it's out.

the insert is flared at the
                holes in the bottom. got
some pics I'll post up soon
                for the bros who wanna
                change out the insert.

                btw it's a rather costly
                little part case ur wondering.

Yeah back in the day I needed a new mount and saw only the insert was sold and it was expensive. I needed the frame too cause the bolt holes were cross threaded and kept coming loose on mine so I went to a junkyard and upgraded to the 95 style. Got one from a grand am for $15! (you need the aluminum piece too if going from a 94 to a newer one)

So how is it secured stock? Welded or press fit and flared out or something?
