Yes felpro was originally the one to offer the steel gaskets. And I thought of the idea before they made them. Glad someone finally did!

I hate the fact that the 3500 didn't come standard in my 1994 beretta, and that the 3900 wasn't an option!! LMAO

Found the problem with my other Trooper. Cracked head and burnt valve. Not sure which caused the other. So much for your indestructible iron heads powerdoctor.

I hate the fact that there is a very small aftermarket.

                  I hate my obd1.5

I used to hate taking the coil pack mounting bracket off a 3100, but now its easy.

Other than that, i like my car/engine. Its not a f-body though...

                        iron head:
lifters, cam bearings, heads and up

                        gen 3 (3500):

location of the lower intake to head bolts, coolant setup (doesnt work well for a fiero!), thermostat location, lack of mounting area on the front side (a/c side) of the block, oil filter so close to the a/c, weak timing chain, intake plenum, etc.

                        but i love the 3500!!

Why do you not like the 3500 plenum? Better than the 3400 plenum!

I hate how the oil filter screws to the side of the block so that whenever I change the filter, oil spills out and drips down the block. And then theres the wiring for the wheel speed sensors that pass right under the filter so the hot oil that is dripping lands directly on the wires. Other than that, I don't mind the engine.

well the plenum is huge! id like a dual plenum, look at nissan's 3.0 with dual plenum, fords 4.0sohc, the sho motor, mazdas 1.8l v6, some chrysler 3.5, hell even a kia i worked on had a better intake setup.

i think the injectors need to be in the heads (not DI, just placed in the heads) and the intake be made more direct with less curves, with dual plenums, and velocity stacks for each runner.
im just going to make one that i want one day!
