They were so impressed by how tough it was they used the new Hilux for their arctic expedition to the northpole and an older one again for their amphibious car attempts.

You know, I'm willing to bet my 83 Bronco XLT could survive the exact same tests. Just put a brush guard on the front and have at it.

I didn't watch the video, but Andy's comment makes me want to comment on one of my old trucks. I had a 76 K5 Blazer with full-time 4-wheel drive and a 350. It was an old plow truck, and had a custom bumper on it that consisted of a 6" diameter, at least 1/4" steel tube, and then a ton of diamond plate steel welded all around it, and finally welded to the frame. One day I was out messing around in it (this was when I lived in Maine) out on some dirt roads, in the snow. Anyway, I was going about 30 or so, and came upon a turn. Well, the snow had turned to ice, so needless to say, I couldn't make the turn. Ran straight into a snow bank and power pole. I snapped the power pole in 2, yet I was able to start the truck right back up, back out, and drive away like nothing ever happened. Except for a TINY scratch on the bumper, you couldn't tell I had hit anything. I miss that truck...

I hit and ran over an adult deer full on at about 45 MPH going to work one day with my Bronco. The only way you could tell it even made contact was a little bit of fur stuck to a bumper bolt. There was no damage to the truck. Couldn't say the same for the deer. After running it over, I saw it's head bounce off the road and it moved no more. Later that evening, when coming home from work, it was still there on the side of the road.
