My Ford with individual coil packs don't like them either, but I've had a single electrode Bosch last 111,000 miles in it, the MotorCraft stock replecement then only lasted 60,000 miles before the gap was over .040" too big O.O from the electrode burning away.

The only problem I ever had with Bosch was recently when I couldn't figure out why the truck was mis-firing, until I saw one plug with the electrode and ceramic completely GONE. I kept it because I never seen anything like it before - in all the used plugs I have seen. I'm going to drill a hole in the end and make a key ring out of it.

If we have a few minutes later, I'll see if I can get a pic uploaded (still at the shop :~)

I have one of those too. It came out of a 3100 in a Beretta. I just ran out to the garage to snap a pic, but I can't find it right now

i've had bad luck with all Bosch Platinum plugs on these engines.. the regular cheepies work great though. It has something to do with the waste spark system killing them.

Iridium plugs are the way to go though, they seem to last forever.. and at $7/plug they better.

I've been considering trying NGK after installing them in a van I worked on. I hate to think of that van though. 99 3400..... intake gaskets.... 2 gallons over full on the dip stick, and oil wasn't the only thing on it... Need I say more? That same engine runs today though

I put spark plugs in an old iron duke and when threading one in by hand the freaking park where the boot goes sheared off in my hand, clean through the ceramic and metal. I was like WTF?!! It must have been dropped at some point and cracked clean through the ceramic and metal. odd. I should of kept it.
